A stiffened single layer of coarsely-woven jute fabric used to make flat pelmets, not as stiff as the pemet double laminated buckram. See The Encyclopaedia of Curtains page 196. Cover the grey buckram in either wadding or interlining to prevent the coarse weave and grey colour showing through the face fabric.
