Roller Blind Fitting Instruction![]() A. Fixing Hardware Components 1. Spring loaded sidewinder with ball chain 2. Two plastic end covers 3. Metal bracket (for sidewinder) 4. Metal bracket (for spindle) 5. Four screws with wall plugs B. Tools you will need Ruler, tape measure, scewdriver and drill. If trimming is required you need scissors, pencil , small hacksaw. A. Locating the brackets The meta brackets are different from each other, this is to allow you to have the sidewinder and chain on the left or right hand side. ![]() Screw brackets [4] onto the side of the wall and window frame which is to have the sidewinder and ball chain. Brackets [3] goes to the opposite side. Allow a clearence of 53mm below and above the brackets to accommodate the blind. Ensure the brackets are level B. Loading the sidewinder movement and end plug With the front face of the blind fabric facing you, push sidewinder and ball chain [1] into which ever side of the blind you have decided to let the chain hang and the end plug into the opposite end. ![]() DO NOT use a hammer for this operation C. Fitting the blind into the brackets Load the spindle lug into bracket [4] ![]() Load sidewinder lug into bracket [3] as shown in diagrams below. ![]() NB. For side wall fitting, slide end covers [2] over the bracket prior to fixing to the wall. Trimming 1. Measure the gap between the brackets and then reduce by 14mm to allow for the sidewinder and end plug. 2. Remove the base rail (straight edge or scallop patterns) or cafe Rod (castle pattern) 3. Unroll the blind onto a flat surface. With a pencil draw the trim line, making sure that it is square to the roller at all times. mark the metal roller, base rail and cafe rod similarly.
